In mid-February, we unveiled a commemorative plaque on the wall of our office building, paying tribute to the founders of Graboplast, Miksa Grab and his sons, Emmánuel and Hugó.
In 1905, industrialization, technological progress, and a strong civic value system represented both opportunity and challenge. The founders established a company that, from the very beginning, placed quality, expertise, and long-term thinking at its core.
The company’s development has been closely intertwined with the history of the 20th century. The world wars, the period of reconstruction, and later the structural transformations of industry all left their mark on the company’s life. Yet Graboplast has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt, renew itself, and find new directions in every era. Technological advancements in flooring manufacturing, the opening of export markets, and the gradual expansion of its international presence are all milestones that have contributed to the company’s current position.
Preserving the founders’ legacy and honoring their memory is of key importance not only to Graboplast, but also to the Győr Foundation for Industrial Heritage; therefore, we jointly erected the commemorative plaque in their honor.
